Abstract :
Self-motivation in carrying out treatment greatly affects hypertensive patients in carrying out treatment. Motivation is a force that drives a person to achieve a goal, namely recovering from his illness. Compliance with hypertension treatment is the main aspect of carrying out hypertension treatment. Factors that can affect medication adherence are patient motivation. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-motivation and compliance with hypertension sufferers in carrying out treatment at the Sawang Health Center, South Aceh Regency. The design of this study used a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was patients with hypertension at the Sawang Health Center, South Aceh Regency. The sampling technique in this study used accidental sampling with a total sample of 83 respondents. The data collection technique used is a questionnaire. Based on the results of the Chi-square test with a significant level of 10%, the p-value for the relationship between self-motivation variables and medication adherence was 0.906, which means the p-value > 0.1. The results showed that there was no relationship between self-motivation and compliance with hypertension sufferers in taking treatment at the Sawang Health Center, South Aceh Regency.
