Abstract :
The tragedy of the deaths of supporters at the Kanjuruhan Stadium is one of the tragedies with the second highest number of fatalities in the world. This research takes the Construction of Reporting on the Tragedy of the Death of Supporters at the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang in the October 2022 edition of the Jawa Pos newspaper. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method using the Robert N. Entman model framing analysis approach which contains four stages in defining a reality, that is define problem, diagnose cause, make moral judgment, and treatment recommendation. The data collection technique in this research was carried out by collecting documentation of news reports about the Kanjuruhan Tragedy in the Jawa Pos newspaper. The results of the research show that there are three categories grouped by researchers, namely news based on community solidarity actions with victims of tragedy, investigations by authorities and legal action against those concerned, and government resolution steps for Indonesian football. From this, the findings show that there is framing with a tendency for Jawa Pos to consistently report on investigations carried out by the Joint Fact-Finding Investigation Team by cornering stadium security. The conclusion of this research is that the news written by Jawa Pos emphasizes the investigation carried out by the government and police in order to resolve the problems that occurred. As for Jawa Pos's support for the victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy, it was written about the mistakes in handling the riots made by the security forces.
