Abstract :
This study aims to describe the inculcation of discipline character values and responsibilities through the activities of extracurricular theater, describe the constraints faced, and describe the solution of the constraints. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Andong on theater extracurricular students at the school. The results of this study showed that the inculcation of discipline character
values and responsibility through theater extracurricular activities in SMA Negeri 1 Andong is as follows: Always start the exercise and end it on time; To give
understanding if the participant is disobedient and orderly towards instruction and willingness of the trainer then the goal will be difficult to achieve; Familiarize the
learners to be able to master the role / part determined according to the time given; Train participants to talk and train participants' language skills; Participants are
required to wear costume / equipment in accordance with what is specified; Familiarize the participants with the equipment they are responsible for; Give understanding to always do what is his responsibility; Understanding if you want to practice the theater can not play games; Unleashing the participant chooses the section at the beginning, and requires the participant to take control of the part that
he or she chooses; Familiarize yourself not to blame each other since the beginning of entry. The constraints encountered are: lack of practice time; lack of facilities;
and lack of coaches. The solution to these constraints is to use another day or choose a day to do theater exercises, such as Saturday and Sunday during weekend libut;
special budgets for facilities, or schools may apply for assistance in obtaining the required facilities of the theater; and looking for additional trainers.
