Abstract :
The writing of this paper aims to (1) describe the inner structure in the Sirkus Pohon novel By Andrea Hirata, (2) describe the study of moral values in the Sirkus Pohon novel by Andrea Hirata, (3) describe moral values in the Sirkus Pohon novel by Andrea Hirata in its Implementation As a Teaching Material in Vocational Schools. This type of research is qualitative descriptive. Data and data sources, the primary data source comes from the Sirkus Pohon novel by Andrea Hirata, secondary data comes from articles on time settings. This means that data collection uses library techniques. The validity of the data uses data triangulation. The data analysis technique uses a semiotic model of heuristic and hermeneutic reading. The results show (1) Sirkus Pohon novel by Andrea Hirata a theme of hard work and optimism. The novel uses flashback and progresif (mixed) plot. The figure of this novel is Sobrinudin, Tara, Tegar, Father, Boss, Azizah, Suruhudin, Dinda, Taripol, Gastori, Abdul Rapi, Soridin kebul, Jamot, and David. The setting in this novel is setting of place in Desa Ketumbi, Kabupaten Tanjong Lantai, Bangka Belitung. The setting of time 1980 to 1990. The social setting of the figures from poor and low-educated families. (2) Moral values in Sirkus Pohon by Andrea Hirata contained honesty, authentic values, responsibility, independence, courage, humility, and realistic and critical. (3) Implementation as literary teaching material in Vocational Schools class XI with KD 3.11 Analyzing messages from one fiction book that is read, and 3.20 Analyzing messages from two fiction books (novels and books of poetry) that are read. Sirkus Pohon novel by Andrea Hirata fulfill criteria as a literary material both in terms of, from the angle of language, the facet of mental maturity (psychology), and the angle of cultural background.
