Abstract :
ABSTRACT Anemia is defined as a reduction in the amount of erythrocyte mass (red cell mass) so that it cannot fulfill its function to carry oxygen in sufficient quantities to the peripheral tissues. To be able to increase erythrocytes in the blood, anti-anemia is needed. One of the plants that can increase erythrocytes in the blood is red okra (Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench) because it has iron, folic acid, and vitamin C. The purpose of this study is to determine the activity and use of effective red okra juice concentration as anti-anemia, using a Factorial Factor Random Block Design. This is the concentration of P1 red okra juice (50%); P2 (60%); P3 (70%); negative control (K-) and positive control (K +) with 5 repetitions. The results showed that adduction of red okra juice can increase the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin levels and hematocrit values so that it has anti-anemia activity in white rats. The most effective interaction between concentration and duration of adduction of okra juice as an anti-anemia is 70% concentration with duration of adduction for 15 days.
