Abstract :
This research was conducted to determine whether the coconut shells used as a
substitute for fine aggregates are included in the 2018 Bina Marga specification
revision III. As well as to determine the value of the optimal asphalt content from
the coconut shell mixture to asphalt. Starting from a mixture of 0% coconut shell,
5% coconut shell mixture and 10% coconut shell mixture and to find out, and
compare the 3 variations of the mixture which is good for making hot asphalt
mixture. In this research, the asphalt layer studied was the AC-BC (Asphalt
Concrete Binder Course) layer. The AC-BC layer is located in the middle of the
pavement layer between the AC-WC (Asphalt Concrete Wearing Course) layer and
the Base Course Layer.
