Abstract :
The smallest structure of a unitary language in a sentence is the word. A higher level of language unity than words is a phrase. language unity consisting of two or more words but the combination of words creates new meaning from the previous word this structure is called a noun phrase. A noun phrase is a phrase that plays with a noun - person, place or object - and the modifier that distinguishes. The noun phrase is used when a single noun is not specific enough to explain a noun. This study aims to investigate the occurrence of object phrases in Dawan, especially the Molo Dialect using the theory of Noun phrases (Miller, 2002). By using qualitative methods, these phrases are classified into 11 types of phrase objects namely Proper noun, Common Noun, Collective noun, Possessive nou, Singular and plural noun, Countable noun, Untountable noun, Maschuline noun, feminism noun, abstract noun, concrete noun. The author uses descriptive qualitative approaches and content analysis techniques to obtain descriptive information. In particular, this study uses the documentation technique to collect data by (1) interviewing informants (2) recording conversations (3) writing conversations and then (4) listening to the conversation while reading to check the lack of conversation. After the data was collected the authors used the content analysis technique to analyze the data by (1) classifying, (2) highlighting, (3) displaying, (4) explaining, (5) and then concluding. The results of this study are as follows. There are 158 sentences found in this study. From 69 types of noun phrase patterns in Dawan language. the most dominant in this study, NP = [N] [D] 6 times NP = [Prep] [N] [Adv] 3 times, NP = [N] [Prep] [N] 2 times, NP = [N] [Adv] [Adv] 2 times.
