English Study Program.Faculty of Language and Arts Education. University of PGRI Semarang. Advisor I : Dra. T. Sri Suwarti, M.Pd. Advisor II : Ajeng Setyorini S.S., M.Pd. The ability to master English is one of the most important things for students in junior high school. Vocabulary mastery is important for students to succeed in learning and mastering English. The main purpose of this research was to find out whether or not there was any significant difference between students' vocabulary mastery before and after being taught using the Memrise application. In this research, the researcher used quantitative research. This research applied a pre experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test. The sample in this research consisted of 30 students. The technique of data analysis was using SPSS 27. The analysis results show that the instruments used in the research are valid and reliable, as seen from the data results. After collecting the data from the pre-test and post-test, the researcher calculated the students' pre-test and post-test scores and calculated the students' mean scores. From the results obtained, it is known that there is a difference in the mean score of pre-test and post-test scores. The mean score of the students' pre-test was 69.166, while the mean score of the students' pre test was 87,000. It means that The mean score of the students' post-test was higher than the mean score of the students' pre-test. The researcher used SPSS to analyze the t-test.The t-test aims to determine whether there is a significant difference between before and after being taught using the Memrise application. From the calculations, it showed that the value of Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000. Thus, it can be concluded that 0.000 < 0.05. It means that there is a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores. The researcher compared the t-test score and t-table value. Based on the analysis, it shows that the t-test score is 11,128, and the t-table value is 1,699. It means that the t-test value is higher than the t-table. Thus, it can be interpreted that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference in students' vocabulary mastery before and after using the Memrise application. Therefore, the Memrise application is suitable to use as a media for learning and teaching English vocabulary.
