Abstract :
Based on the data from Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2010, the majority of women in Indonesia (68 percent) aged 10 to 59 years reported regular menstruation and 13.7% had problems which is irregular menstrual cycles in the past one year. The reason given by women 10 to 59 years who had irregular cycles due to stress and lots of thoughts was 5.1%. From the description given above, the researcher is interested in doing a research on the correlation between stress level and the menstrual cycle in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya University. This research is an observational analytic study with a cross- sectional study design with data collection using a questionnaire filled out by the respondents. The way of sampling in this study is using Purposive Sampling method, namely Cluster Sampling. Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS) - 42 questionnaires is use to determine the level of stress, while to determine the menstrual cycle used a questionnaire compiled by the researcher. From the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that there is no correlation between stress level and menstrual cycle in students of the Faculty of Medicine, Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya University.
