Abstract :
Moringa oleifera (MO) has many health benefits. including as an anti-hyperglycemia. The quercetin content in MO can repair rats' kidney damage due to the induction of diabetogenic materials of alloxan or streptozotocin. This study aims to determine the effect of MO, dosage and the best part of MO in repairing kidney damage due to diabetes mellitus type 2. This study is based on a systematic review with meta-synthesis methods and meta-aggregation approach. The research data were obtained from 10 reference sources with the result obtained that MO (Moringa leaf extract, Moringa flower extract, and Moringa seed oil) could be used to repair rats' kidney damage due to diabetes mellitus type 2, in the form of: Decrease concentration of creatinine serum, urea serum, malondyaldehide (MDA), apoptosis cell death markers (caspase 3, caspase 9, NFk?, TNF-?), infalammtory cytokines (IL-1?, IL-6, IL-12, IL-18), decrease in relative kidney weight, improvement the histological architecture of the kidney and increased catalase enzyme. The dosages that had the best effectiveness were moringa leaf extract 400-500 mg/kgbb/day, moringa flower extract 300 mg/kgbb/day and moringa seed oil 1.8 mg/kgbb/day. Of the three parts and doses of moringa oleifera, moringa leaf extract had the best results in repairing kidney damage. So it can be concluded that moringa leaf extract at a dose of 400-500 mg/kgbb/day has the best results in repairing kidney damage due to diabetes mellitus type 2. Keywords: moringa oleifera, diabetes mellitus type 2, kidney, albino rats.
