Abstract :
ABSTRACT Asmara, Reyza Salam. 2020. Sensitiveness Test Of Salam Leaf Extract (Syzygium polyanthum W.) On Killing Power Of Streptococcus pyogenes. Final Assignment, Faculty Of Medicine, Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya University. Supervisor: dr. Titiek Sunaryati, M.Ked. Examiner: dr. Maria Sugeng, M.Kes. Research using leaves (Syzygium polyanthum W.) was carried out because researchers were interested in the properties contained in bay leaves so that it could be used as an anti-bacterial for health, and also wanted to know the concentration of bay leaf extract that can kill colonies of Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria, in addition The dau salam plant is very easy to get and planted in the yard of the house. On this basis, the aim of the study to test the sensitivity of the antibacterial substance of the bay leaf extract (Syzygium polyanthum W.) to the killing power of Streptococcus pyogenes. Methods This study was a laboratory experimental study with a post test only method with a control group design and a simple random sampling method. With a population of Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria and a large sample of 28 samples taken. The data analysis used was the Kolmorov-Smirnov test and Levene's test, which was then followed by a one-way ANOVA test. Results The administration of bay leaf extract (Syzygium polyanthum W.) with a concentration of 50%, 60%, 70%, 80% and 90% was able to kill the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes. Key Words : Salam leaves (Syzygium polyanthum W.), Killing Power, Streptococcus pyogenes
