Abstract :
Bacterial pathogens are priority treatment in programs to improve health status in Indonesia by controlling infectious diseases caused by these pathogenic bacteria. Among the bacteria that have high frequency intensity as the cause of infection are Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) peel extract in various doses to inhibit the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Staphylococcus aeurs bacteria. The results of this study were that the mangosteen rind extract was more effective in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria than Mycobacterium tuberculosis, this was because the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria was given the mangosteen rind extract with a concentration of 2% with a yield <7 mm. whereas the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of Mycobacterium tuberculosis was at a concentration of 25% with a result of 224.90 light intensity.
