Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity of several concentrations of lidah buaya leaves extract on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus in vitro. This study used 5 treatments with 5 replications, P0 as a negative control using aquades, P0+ as a positive control with amoxicillin treatment, P1 as a treatment which has lidah buaya leaves extract with a concentration 15%, P2 as treatment using lidah buaya leaves extract with a concentration 25%, P3 as a treatment using lidah buaya leaves extract with a concentration 35%. The result of the statistical test analysis revealed a significant different because (P<0.05) indicating that there was a significant difference. The highest concentration, 35% demonstrated antibacterial activity by forming an inhibitory zone of 14.612 mm, while the lowest concentration, 15% demonstrated antibacterial activity of 8.260 mm. According to the findings, lidah buaya leaves extract at a concentration of 15% began to exhibit antibacterial activity, implying that the higher the concentration given, the greater the effect of activity that inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus.
