Abstract :
This research attempted to analyze how Department of Tourism and Culture of Yogyakarta city implemented E-tourism to communicate tourism of Yogyakarta city. lt aimed at finding out how E-tourism functions as a tourism marketing communication medium. The research was a descriptive qualitative research that the research subject was Chairperson of Tourism Promotion and Cooperation Department, Chairperson of Tourism Promotion and Marketing Division, an expert of Tourism Promotion and Cooperation Department, and a website admin of Department of Tourism and Culture of Yogyakarta city. The data were gathered through in-depth interview, documentation, and Iibrary research. A qualitative data analysis technique was employed to analyze the data. The findings revealed that the implementation of E-tourism by Department of Tourism and Culture of Yogyakarta city was not adequately good due to the absence of detail planning of e-tourism that Department of Tourism and Culture of Yogyakarta city accessed the e-tourism only for updating news and the agenda. The sharing duty was also not in line with the organization structure that there was double job. It indicated that the performance did not focus on a certain filed so that it impacted on the implementation of the department schedule.
