Abstract :
Background : The stomatognation system is a functional unit consisting of teeth, dental support tissue, maxilla (maxilla) and lower jaw (mandible), surrounding muscles and related structures such as the temporomandibular joint. One of the tests that can be done to support the TMJ joint disorders is by measuring the patient's mouth opening or called the Range of Motion (ROM). Daily activities that last for a long time and with an un ergonomic body position can cause trauma to the muscles and joints that belong to the stomatognation system. Objective : Knowing the description of Range of Motion (ROM) batik crafters in Giriloyo Hamlet Imogiri District Bantul Regency Yogyakarta Research : The method in this research is observational descriptive with Cross Sectional research design. Samples obtained in this study were 88 batik crafters makers in Giriloyo Hamlet. This research was conducted for one month, namely January to February. Measurement of maximal patient's mouth opening using a sliding caliper. Result : The results of this study showed that 19 study subjects experienced limited mouth opening. The occurrence of mouth opening limitations occurs in the late adult age group of 7 research subjects and based on the length of batik obtained the most results in the group that has worked for> 20 years. Conclusions : As many as 21.6% of study subjects experienced limited mouth opening. Keyword : Stomatognation system, batik crafters, range of motion, body position
