ABSTRACT This study aimed to describe superiority trials Islamic economics department at the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in instilling the principles, values and methodology of Islamic economics. Evaluation and development of Islamic economics department at the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in Islamic economics. Knowing the constraints faced by Islamic economics department at the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The research methodology in this research use descriptive qualitative method, while the data collection consists of interview, observation, documentation and questionnaires. The results showed that 1) the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang in this case represented by the Department of Islamic economics has instilled the principles of Islamic economics; such as the principles of equity and social solidarity. Contributed to the development of disciplines and in the field of Islamic values as well as economic. Programs also have been focused on the economic values of Islam and its application in the real world; as rooted in God, support the idea of the universality of Islamic economy and that it is the economy that comes from God and moral. As stressed by the principles of the theory of Islamic economics and human values according to the viewpoint of the methodology used. The curriculum in the department has advantage in covering all Islamic economic topics which are all derived from Islamic law (sharia) and scientific; such as jurisprudence, proposals and jurisprudence of maqasid syariah. And also guided by some Islamic economic theory built from the results of ijtihad which took the basis of several sources of sharia. 2) The results of the evaluation showed successful trial of Islamic economics department in implementing community development strategy through what has been given, such as scientific papers. The shape of these contributions are supporting charity and development that is in the midst of society, e.g. zakat institution. As also has managed to provide a diversity of scientific research on issues of Islamic economics. 3) Barriers faced by the department include matters related to funding, low interest of students towards jurisprudence of muamalah, unavailability of dedicated library and duration limited time in doing the final. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keunggulan ujicoba jurusan ekonomi Islam di Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang dalam menanamkan prinsip-prinsip, nilai-nilai dan metodelogi ilmu ekonomi Islam. Evaluasi dan pengembangan jurusan ekonomi Islam di Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang di bidang ekonomi Islam.
