ABSTRACT A harmonious family is the dream, hope and even the purpose of human beings. A harmonious family will be achieved if in a husband-wife life there is a balanced pattern of relations between husband and wife. Actually in formulating a harmonious family, of course every individual, community, class, religion and tribe have their own assessment and criteria or concept according to their circumstances. Likewise in the mualaf family. Some Situbondo people are willing convert to Islam (mualaf). The majority of the people of Situbondo religious level to Islam is so thick, seen from the jargon of Situbondo, namely Kota Santri and Kota Bumi Shalawat Nariyah, so it is only natural that non-Muslim society is easily influenced by Muslim society to become converts (mualaf). This research was conducted to find out how the relation of husband and wife in the mualaf family to build harmonious family in Situbondo? And how the relation of husband and wife in the mualaf family to build a harmonious family in Situbondo perspective structural functionalism theory? This research is a qualitative research. By type, this research including to field research (Field Research). Data collection method used is an interview and documentation method. The primary data source from interview to mualaf families. While other books, the results of documentation in the field as supporting data. Data analysis technique begins with checking the validity of data using triangulation honesty of researchers and discussion techniques, for data analysis in this study using structural functionalism theory Robert K. Merton. This study produced important findings. The mualaf family in Situbondo build relationships between: a. Husband and wife in terms of leadership and decision making in the family. b. The division of roles in the household. c. Problems solving in the household. The mualaf family has performed the function of the family structure well, both the function of husband to wife, and vice versa. As they function for husband and wife relationships in terms of leadership and decision-making in the family, fuction for the division of roles in the household and function for the problems solving in the household. ABSTRAK Keluarga yang harmonis merupakan dambaan, harapan bahkan tujuan insan, baik yang akan atau yang tengah membangun rumah tangga. Sebuah keluarga yang harmonis akan tercapai apabila dalam kehidupan suami-istri terdapat pola relasi yang seimbang antara suami dan istri. Sebenarnya dalam merumuskan sebuah keluarga yang harmonis, tentu setiap individu, masyarakat, golongan, agama dan suku mempunyai penilaian dan kriteria atau konsep tersendiri sesuai keadaan masing-masing. Begitupun di dalam keluarga dari pasangan suami-istri yang mualaf. Beberapa masyarakat Kabupaten Situbondo ada yang rela berpindah agama untuk masuk agama Islam (mualaf). Mayoritas masyarakat Kabupaten Situbondo tingkat religiusnya terhadap Islam begitu kental, dilihat dari jargon Kabupaten Situbondo, yaitu Kota Santri dan Kota Bumi Shalawat Nariyah, sehingga wajar saja masyrakat yang non muslim mudah dipengaruhi oleh masyarakat muslim untuk menjadi mualaf. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana relasi suami-istri keluarga mualaf dalam membangun keluarga harmonis di Kabupaten Situbondo perspektif teori fungsionalisme struktural?
