ABSTRACT Sociology of literature is a combination of sociology and literature, which has a very important role because literature can never be separated from the social aspect of society. The marxist sociology of literature is one of sociological theory of literature that studies about social class and social conflicts that occur in the community. Of the exposure, the researchers propose two formulas related with marxist sociology of literature, 1. How social conflict in the novel ?Hamamah Salam? by Naguib Kailani? 2. How Kailani?s ideology in the novel ?Hamamah Salam?? This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The steps were app;ied in this study, first is read the novel ?Hamamah Salam? by Naguib Kailani then understand it, second is researches understand the social conflict in the novel ?Hamamah Salam? by Naguib Kailani, third is started classifying social conflict were found then write according to the research method. In accordance with the formulation of the above problems, the results of this study are: first, the result of the analysis of social conflict in the novel ?Hamamah Salam? by Naguib Kailani. There are two social classes, the borjuis class were represented by Abdul Wadud and subordinate class were represented by peasants in the village. There is a lot of inequality in terms of economic, social and political causing class struggle and negative impact on villagers. Second, ideology of Naguib Kailaniin the novel ?Hamamah Salam? by Naguib Kailani. There is a strong relations between a social fact in novel and social fact in society that terms of economics and politics. From these relations can be concluded that Kailani?s ideology in favor of the subordinate class. It can be seen from the plot novels that highlight the suffering of the working class as dominant. ABSTRAK Ilmu sosiologi sastra merupakan gabungan dari ilmu sosiologi dan ilmu sastra, yang memiliki peranan sangat penting karena sastra tidak pernah lepas dari segi sosial masyarakat. Adapun sosiologi sastra marxis adalah salah satu teori sosiologi sastra yang mempelajari tentang kelas sosial dan konflik sosial yang terjadi di masyarakat. Dari pemaparan tersebut, peneliti mengajukan dua rumusan masalah yang berkenaan dengan sosilogi sastra marxis, 1. Bagaimana konflik sosial dalam novel ?Hamamah Salam? karya Naguib Kailani? 2. Bagaimana ideologi Naguib Kailani dalam novel ?Hamamah Salam?? Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Adapun langkah-langkah yang diaplikasikan pada penelitian ini, pertama membaca novel ?Hamamah Salam? karya Naguib Kailani kemudian memahaminya, kedua peneliti memahami konflik sosial yang terjadi dalam novel ?Hamamah Salam? karya Naguib Kailani, ketiga peneliti memulai mengelompokkan konflik sosial yang ditemukan kemudian menuliskannya sesuai dengan metode penelitian. Sesuai dengan rumusan masalah di atas, maka hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: pertama, hasil analisis dari konflik sosial dalam novel ?Hamamah Salam?. Dalam novel tersebut terdapat dua kelas sosial, yaitu kelas atas yang direpresentasikan oleh Abdul Wadud dan kelas bawah yang direpresentasikan oleh kaum buruh tani di desa. Terdapat banyak ketimpangan dari segi ekonomi, sosial, dan politik sehingga menimbulkan pertentangan kelas dan dampak negatif bagi masyarakat desa. Kedua, ideologi Naguib Kailani dalam novel ?Hamamah Salam?. Terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara fakta sosial novel dan fakta sosial masyarakat dari segi ekonomi dan politik. Dari hubungan tersebut dapat di simpulkan ideologi Naguib Kailani yang berpihak pada kelas bawah. Hal ini dapat d
