ABSTRACT In Indonesian learning, there are four skills that must be mastered by the student as specified in socialization material of Content Standards for Primary and Secondary Education Unit, namely listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills. As one of the actions that can be done to hone writing skills is the ability to write poetry in the fifth grade students of Elementary School / Islamic elementary schools. One model of learning that can be used in the teaching of writing poetry is SAVI approach with the utilization of TANDUR strategy. This study uses mix-methods and types pure experimental research. Pure experimental research is used to determine whether the SAVI approach with the utilization of TANDUR strategy affects the students? ability to write poetry by providing a measure of the SAVI application collaborated with TANDUR. The study was conducted in MI Nurul Huda Malang Mulyorejo in February-March 2016. The instrument used for data collection is process assessment sheets, student work assessment sheets, and a field record of activity for students and teacher. The data of this study is the ability value to determine the diction, rhyme, and figurative language of poetry, and quality process assessment of writing poetry. The research result of SAVI approach with the utilization of TANDUR strategy application to the writing skills of students shows positive results. Application of SAVI approach with the utilization of TANDUR strategy affects significantly on students' ability to write poetry at the stage of determining diction, rhyme, figurative language, and the stage of the learning process quality to write poetry. T test shows possitively, the stage of determining diction thitung = 4,441 > ttabel = 2.045, rhyme thitung = 2,382 > ttabel = 2.045, figurative language thitung = 4.664 > ttabel = 2.045. Regression test shows the stage of determining diction probability 0,002 < 0,05, rhyme probability 0,032 < 0,05, figurative language probability 0, 008 < 0,05. This study shows good results in the development of the models use and learning strategies in teaching and learning. ABSTRAK Dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, salah satu keterampilan yang harus dimiliki siswa adalah keterampilan menulis, sebagaimana tercantum dalam Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan. Pendekatan SAVI dengan strategi TANDUR ini dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas V di MI Nurul Huda Mulyorejo Malang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui, (1) bagaimana pengaruh penggunaan pendekatan SAVI dengan pemanfaatan strategi TANDUR terhadap keterampilan siswa menentukan diksi, (2) menetukan rima, dan (3) menentukan bahasa kias pada proses pembelajaran menulis puisi siswa kelas V MI Nurul Huda Mulyorejo. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantilatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen murni. Pada penlitian ini uji validitas dan reliabilitas dilakukan dengan
