ABSTRACT Semiotic structural is a combination of structural and semiotics. Because the structural study is too unpretentious, so the ?researchers used semiotics as a complement to this analysis. Then the theory is called ? semiotic-structural, research which examines the aspects of structural and semiotics. This ?theory is very suitable in the research to novels and short stories. In this research, the ?researcher used novel Al Farosyah Az Zarqo? as an object.? This research there are two problems. First, how the realization of intrinsic ?elements of plot, character, setting and theme in the Novel blue butterflies of Rabi ' ?Jabeer. Second, how does the existence of the relationship between signs and see in ?semiotics that is contained in Rabi? Jabeer?s Al Farosyah Az Zarqo?. This research, ?aimed to uncover the problems that have been mentioned above.? This research includes research documentation types that use qualitative methods with ? approach the semiotic structural, and the source is Rabi? Jabeer?s Al Farosyah Az Zarqo?.? Based on the mentioned issues, the results of this research are: (1) the novel Al Farosyah Az Zarqo? has two main characters, Nur and his grandmother, Zahiyah, and there are ?six additional characters such as: S, Brosber Portales, Joshep and George Babazuagli. According to the plot, the novel has a mixed of plot and according to the numbers, plot in the ?novel is called the subsection subplots. The background of this novel is in Batatar, Beirut. (2) the relations between sign and ?reference and the meaning of story contained in the novel through use of signs and reference are icon, index and symbol.? ABSTRAK Struktural semiotik adalah gabungan struktural dan semiotika. Karena penelitian struktural terlalu sederhana, oleh karena itu peneliti menggunakan semiotika sebagai pelengkap analisis ini, maka disebutlah teori ini struktural-semiotik, yakni penelitian yang mengkaji tentang aspek struktural dan semiotika. Teori ini sangat cocok digunakan dalam penelitian pada novel dan cerpen. Disini peneliti menggunakan Novel Al Farosyah Az Zarqo? sebagai objek kajiannya. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini ada dua : yang pertama, bagaimana wujud unsur-unsur intrinsik yang berupa alur, tokoh, latar dan tema dalam Novel Al Farosyah Az Zarqo?karya Rabi? Jabeer. Yang kedua, bagaimana wujud hubungan antara tanda dan acuannya dalam semiotika yang terdapat dalam novel Al Farosyah Az Zarqo? karya Rabi? Jabeer. Peneletian ini, bertujuan untuk menguak permasalahan yang telah disebutkan diatas. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian dokumentasi yang menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan struktural semiotik, dan sumber utamanya adalah Novel Al Farosyah Az Zarqo?karya Rabi? Jabeer. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang disebutkan, hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa : (1) novel Al Farosyah Az Zarqo?memiliki dua tokoh utama, yakni Nur dan nenek Zahiyah, dan terdapat enam tokoh tambahan seperti : S, Brosber Portales, Joshep dan George Babazuagli. Apabila dilihat dari alurnya, novel ini memiliki alur campuran dan jika dlihat dari jumlahnya, alur dalam novel ini disebut dengan plot sub-subplot. Adapun latar yang terdapat dalam novel ini bertempat di Beirut tepatnya di wilayah Batatar. (2) wujud hubungan antara tanda dan acuannya dan makna cerita yang terkandung dalam novel melalui penggunaan tanda dan acuannya berupa ikon, indeks dan simbol.
