ABSTRACT A wide variety of ways to do the learning inside and outside the classroom. Moreover, technology advances very rapidly growing, it is certainly also affect developments in the field of education. Islamic education will run more interesting when there's empowerment means Islamic education combined with the learning media technology. History of Islamic culture is one of the subjects of Islamic religious education which is essential in the quest character development of students. But the reality that is happening at the moment, these subjects are less sought after by learners because the selection of election materials that are less precise. As the subjects are important, then the learning process should run well. By selection of the proper materials can overcome this problem. Along with the development of science and technology, teachers can make use of multimedia to develop learning materials to suit your needs This study aims to develop interactive multimedia-based teaching materials in improving the motivation to learn the history of Islamic culture on the material development of science civilization Abbasid dynasty, with the program Makromedia Flash 8.0 which is packaged in the form of interactive CDs in the class XI students in MAN Genukwatu Jombang. This research is a research and development conducted with the stage of analysis, design, production, and revision. In the production stage the initial product is produced which is then reviewed by the material experts and media experts. From the results of the review was revised in accordance with the advice of the two experts. In the next stage, the product is tested to the students on a large scale, the test subject is the students of class XI in MAN Genukwatu Jombang. The result of the study of the development of instructional materials of interactive multimedia-based SKI fulfilled the valid criteria with the presentation of experimental results by 87.5% material experts, 77,5% media design experts, 87.5% learning experts, and 91% field trial results. Student learning outcomes on average pre-test scores were 68.7 and the post-test score was 82.2. In the manual t-test with significance level of 0.05 obtained t-count> t-table is 8.23> 1.69552 which means Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. From the results obtained can show that the product can develop student learning motivation seen from the influence of student learning outcomes.
