What parents taught will be practiced by their children too. In order to establish a child with Islamic character and knowledgeable about religion, parents should teach Islamic education from an early age to the child. Single parent is a family that only lived by one parent only. With only one parent, each single parent will play a dual role in the household. With the busy life, the parents must be very clever to manage their time to educate children with Islamic knowledge. This research aims to describe: (1) factors that caused the occurrence of single parent family in Kelurahan Pagentan; (2) the problems of Islamic religious education that occurred in the single parent family in Kelurahan Pagentan; (3) proposed solution to solve the problems of Islamic religious education in single parent family in Kelurahan Pagentan. This research uses qualitative approach with case study type. Techniques of collecting data through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis using reflective technique is through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Technique of data checking is done through triangulation of source usage, triangulation by method, triangulation with researcher, and triangulation with theory. The results showed that: (1) The cause of single parent in social life can occur because of 3 things, named: (a) divorce; (b) one of family members leaving family or home; and (c) one died. The cause of divorce in society can occur due to several things, such as: (KDRT); dishonesty; economic problems and others. (2) Islamic Religious Education should be done and familiarized from an early age. Parents (including single parent) have a responsibility to educate children with religious education, moral education, physical education, intellectual education, and social education. (3) By the communication the child will always feel that he supervised by the parents even though only have one parent with the busyness he faces in order to support the family ABSTRAK Keluarga adalah pendidikan pertama bagi seluruh anak. Apa yang diajarkan orang tua maka akan dipraktikkan juga oleh anaknya. Agar dapat membentuk anak dengan karakter Islami dan berpengetahuan luas mengenai keagamaan maka orang tua harus mengajarkan pendidikan keislaman sejak usia dini kepada anak. Single parent merupakan suatu keluarga yang hanya dijalani oleh satu orang tua saja. Dengan hanya satu orang tua, maka setiap single parent akan memerankan peran ganda dalam rumah tangganya. Dengan kesibukan yang dijalani, maka orang tua harus pandai-pandai mengatur waktunya untuk mendidik anak dengan pengetahuan keislaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) faktor penyebab terjadinya keluarga single parent di Kelurahan Pagentan; (2) problematika pendidikan agama Islam yang terjadi pada keluarga single parent di Kelurahan Pagentan; (3) solusi yang diajukan untuk mengatasi problematika pendidikan agama Islam pada keluarga single parent di Kelurahan Pagentan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi.
