ABSTRACT Alqur'an Alkarim is the main legal source in Islam. Therefore the best effort in maintaining the authenticity of the Qur'an is to memorize Qur'anic verses. There are many methods in memorizing the Qur'an one of them is the tikrar method. This method is different from other methods with uniqueness in practice that is by memorizing without memorizing but by reading the verses repeatedly. By repeating the process of reading applied in this method causes the strength of rote. This refers to the role of the tikrar method in improving the quality of rote. Based on this background, the problem formulation in this research are: (1) how to practice the method of tikrar in Pondok Pesantren Raudlatul Ulum 2 Gondanglegi Malang? (2) What is the role of tikrar method to improve the memory quality of Al-Qur'an santri Pondok Pesantren Raudlatul Ulum 2 Gondanglegi Malang?. This research is a qualitative research with case study type. Researchers chose the type of case study because in this study researchers discussed about the situation in Pondok Pesantren Raudlatul Ulum 2 Putukrejo Gondanglegi Malang. The result of this research is application of tikrar method include three process that is process of planning, execution and evaluation. In the planning process it is required for the santri to have wudu 'before the memorization process begins and it is mandatory to use the tikrar mushaf and prepare by reading ayat that will be memorized first in accordance with the rules of tajwid. While the teachers prepare themselves with istiqomah murajaah. In the process of tikrar method consists of additional process begins with the reading of tawassul and prayer, followed by tahsin process and talaqqi of the ayat that will be memorized, then repeat the ayat which will be memorized by repeated reading according to provision of repetition amount in musraf tikrar. After getting one sheet then deposit the reading to the teacher without seeing the mushaf. In addition there are activities murajaah for ayat that has been memorized in several ways that individual murajaah by reading over and over as according to the provisions of the amount in the Mushaf, in pairs with one of the readers and listeners, and murajaah by reading to the teacher. In the evaluation process obtained from ziadah activities and murajaah listed in the santri valuation book. The role of tikrar method in improving the quality of memorization is to improve the reading in accordance with the science of tajwid and improve the memory ability of ayat that have been memorized and not easy to forget. This is reinforced by the increase in all the students of PP Raudlatul Ulum in three phases of rote test with the same juz in different time from the criteria of fashohah and tahfidz tajwid. ABSTRAK Alqur?an Alkarim merupakan sumber hukum utama dalam islam. Maka dari itu usaha terbaik dalam menjaga keaslian Al-Qur?an adalah dengan menghafal ayat-ayat Qur?aniyah. Terdapat banyak metode dalam mempermudah menghafal Al-Qur?an salah satunya adalah metode tikrar. Metode ini berbeda dengan metode yang lain dengan keunikan dalam prakteknya yakni dengan menghafal tanpa menghafal tetapi dengan membaca ayat secara berulan
