ABSTRACT The background of this study is caused of the more negative behaviors of communities that occur in everyday life especially among learners at school such as the use of illicit drug, sexual harassment, aggressive stance, a brawl, bullying, and others. The negative behaviors indicate that Indonesia is heading the abyss of destruction. It is neededfor the existing of education that can change the bad behaviors to be better. Islamic Boarding school of Babussalam Malang is an institution in which give priority to the shape of personality and the mental attitude of learners by using Al-Akhlaq lil Banat and other classic books. So, the learners has good characters for being the next generation that has good quality Based on the background above, the research problems of this research are: (1) what are the character?s values contained in the books of Al-Akhlaq lil Banat chapter 1 authored by Ustadz Umar ibn Ahmad Baraja (2) How are the implementation of the character?s value at students in Islamic boarding schools Babussalam Malang. To achieve the goals above, the researchers use a descriptive qualitative method to the type of library and field research. The techniques of data collection are: 1) techniques by analyzing the content of the study, 2) observation techniques 3) interview techniques, and 4) documentation. The techniques of data analysis are: 1) data collection, 2) data reduction, 3) the presentation of the data, and 4) making conclusion. The results of this research show that: 1) there are 5 character?s valuesin the book Al-Akhlaq lil Banat, religious (moral to Alloh , moral to Rasul, and trustworthy), discipline, care for the environment, love cleanliness, social matter (social manners, respect others, moral to parents, moral to brothers and sisters, moral to family, moral to neighbors, moral to teachers, morals to friends, and morals of students in the school. 2) there are three character?s values that are implemented in Islamic boarding schools of Babussalam Malang. Those are: the value of religious, the value of discipline, and the value of social care ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena semakin banyaknya perilaku negatif masyarakat yang terjadi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari terutama dikalangan anak usia sekolah seperti penggunaan obat terlarang, pelecehan seksual, sikap agresif, tawuran, bullying, kemerosotan toleransi umat beragama dan lain-lain. Perilaku perilaku negatif tersebut menjadi tanda bahwa Indonesia sedang menuju jurang kehancuran.Dibutuhkannya sebuah pendidikan yang dapat mengubah perilaku buruk tersebut menjadi lebih baik. Pondok Pesantren Babussalam Malang merupakan lembaga pendidikan yang di dalamnya mengutamakan pembentukan kepribadian dan sikap mental peserta didik dengan menggunakan kitab Al-Akhlak lil Banat dan kitab-kitab klasik lainnya. sehingga memiliki karakter yang baik dan menjadi generasi penerus bangsa yang cemerlang. Berdasarkan latar belakang di atas, maka rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu (1) Apa saja nilai-nilai karakter yang terkandung dalam kitab Al-Akhlak lil Banat jilid 1 Karya Ustadz Umar bin Ahmad Baraja (2) Bagaimana implementasi nilai ? nilai karakter pada santri di Pondok Pesantren Babussalam Malang Untuk mencapai tujuan di atas, peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan dan lapangan.
