Ha ????? ?? ???? ??? ????? ????? ABSTRACT Reading is one of language skills is not easy. Read not just recite a letter or sentence only, but also to understand the meaning that contained in the readings. Reading skills referred to as primary skills from a variety of foreign language skills. Reading skills also become as skills which are very important and useful that it becomes the main goal in learning a foreign language. In this research, researchers found several problems in learning Arabic language at Al-Hidayah Islamic Junior High School Karangploso Malang, especially in reading skills. Most of the students have not been able to read Arabic properly, because they had never studied Arabic at all. So they found difficulties to learn Arabic. Therefore, researchers conduct this research with using cooperative learning strategies in learning maharah STAD qiroah. The formulation of the problem in this research is: 1) how the use of STAD cooperative learning technique in learning maharah qiroah in Al-Hidayah Islamic Junior High School Karangploso Malang? 2) how the effectiveness of use STAD cooperative learning technique in learning maharah qiroah in Al-Hidayah Islamic Junior High School Karangploso Malang?. As for the purpose of this research, they are: 1) to know the use of STAD cooperative learning technique in learning maharah qiroah in Al-Hidayah Islamic Junior High School Karangploso Malang 2) to find out the effectiveness of use STAD cooperative learning technique in learning maharah qiroah in Al-Hidayah Islamic Junior High School Karangploso Malang. Research methods that used by the researcher is the quantitative methods, and the approach used was experimental approach which consists of two groups, the experimental group and the control group. As for the results of this research are: 1) the use of cooperative learning technique "STAD" in learning maharah qiroah : the researchers gave an example how to read the text correctky. Researchers divided the student into groups. Then, every group was given a text and some questions. Every group discussed the text. The researches gave the individual quiz. Researchers gave points of the individual quiz. The group who get most points will receive awards. 2) the use of cooperative learning technique "STAD" is effective in learning maharah qiroah in Al-Hidayah Islamic Junior High School Karangploso Malang. It is known from a t-test shows that the result of t count was 5.94 bigger than t-table (table significance) level 5% =2,000. It shows that is Ha accepted, or in other words that the using of cooperative learning technique "STAD" is effective in learning maharah qiroah. ABSTRAK Membaca adalah salah satu keterampilan bahasa yang tidak mudah. Membaca bukan hanya melafalkan suatu huruf atau kalimat saja akan tetapi juga memahami makna yang terkandung dalam bacaan tersebut. Keterampilan membaca dinggap sebagai keterampilan utama dari berbagai keterampilan bahasa asing.
