ABSTRACT In today?s era society believes that formal education is the important component that must be owned by their children, because education influence many aspects of social life from job until social status within the society. The role of society especially parents is the first and main for their children before they have grown up and stood themself. Tulungrejo village is one of the village located in Pare regent Kediri district, East Java Province which consists of five sub-villages with majority of Tulungrejo village society work as farmer and small traders. Small traders society are the society whose jobs are sellers in the retail volume located in market edges stalls to fulfill everyday?s life. The incorrect view about eductaion will impact to their children?s education. The majority of small traders in Tulungrejo Village do not pursue complete formal education. Formal education is the structured and levelled way consisting of primary education, secondary education and higher eduaction. The children education is often failed because of many hindrances, both for internal and internal hindrances also the limit of parental participation in realizing the children education. The purpose of this research are for: (1) Describing the view of small traders society about children formal education, (2) Describing the parents? effort in realizing the children?s formal education, (3) Describing the hindrances faced by parents in realizing the children?s formal education. In order to achieve the above?s purpose this research uses qualitative method with the kind of case study research. The data source gotten in this research is primary data and secondary data. The data collection technique in this research use interview, obeservation and documentation. In this research, the researcher uses data analysis through data reduction, data serving and verification (conclusion taking). This research shows that: (1) Small traders society?s view in Tulungrejo village about children formal education is important because they put their children at school in order to get larger general and religion knowledge thus they have ability and talent in facing the good future able to achieve successfullness in the world and the world after, (2) The effort of Tulungrejo village parents in realizing the children?s formal education by funding their formal education from the basic education to the higher education, creating the condusive learning environment by giving learning facility in the form of courses and learning guidance, (3) The main hindrances felt by Tulungrejo village parents in realizing the children?s formal education is the children enjoy playing handphone. ABSTRAK Pendidikan formal adalah hal penting yang harus dimiliki terutama oleh anak-anak, karena pendidikan berpengaruh pada berbagai aspek dalam kehidupan masyarakat mulai dari pekerjaan hingga status sosial kita dimasyarakat. Peranan masyarakat khususnya orang tua adalah yang pertama dan utama bagi pendidikan anak-anaknya.
