ABSTRACT Reciprocal Teaching and Mind Map are beneficial learning model synergized especially on cognitive ability such as memorizing, applying, analyzing, evaluating and creating to support Grade VI students? learning achievement and social science article writing ability in SD Negeri 1 Dadaprejo Kota Batu east Java. The study was conducted in SD Negeri 1 Dadaprejo Kota Batu East Java and the subject consisted of Grade VI A as the experiment class and VI B as the control class. The study aimed to (1) find out the influence of mind mapping aided reciprocal teaching learning model in improving Grade VI students? learning achievement in SD Negeri 1 Dadaprejo, (2) find out the influence of mind mapping aided reciprocal teaching learning model in improving Grade VI students? social science article writing ability in SD Negeri 1 Dadaprejo. The study is a quantitative research using quasi experiment with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. It was done by using mind mapping aided reciprocal teaching learning model for experiment class and conventional learning for control class. The influence was measured using learning achievement test and article writing ability test. The hypothesis test stated that the pretest t test of experiment and control class is identical since Sig. tcount 0.074 ? 0.05. It also stated that the posttest t test of experiment and control class was Sig. 0.000 then 0.000 ? 0.05. The conclusion showed that mind mapping aided reciprocal teaching learning model has a significant influence on Grade VI students? social science learning achievement in SDN 1 Dadaprejo Kota Batu. However, the article writing ability using the reciprocal teaching learning model showed no students achieve good and very good score. 7 students achieved fair score with the percentage of 15%. The rest of students belonged (14 students) to poor category with score range of 0-52 and its percentage was 85%. ABSTRAK Reciprocal Teaching dan Peta Pikiran (Mind Map) merupakan model pembelajaran yang memiliki manfaat yang bersinergi terutama dalam pembelajaran pada kemampuan kognitif (mengingat, memahami, menerapkan, menganalisis, menilai dan mencipta) untuk menunjang hasil belajar dan kemampuan menulis artikel IPS siswa kelas VI SD Negeri 1 Dadaprejo Kota Batu Provinsi Jawa Timur. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 1 Dadaprejo Kota Batu Provinsi Jawa Timur, dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas VI A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VI B sebagai kelas control. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) Mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Reciprocal Teaching berbantu Peta Pikiran dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas VI SD Negeri 1 Dadaprejo, (2) Mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Reciprocal Teaching berbantu Peta Pikiran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis artikel IPS siswa
