ABSTRACT Teachers competence is the one factor this influence the goal of learning and school education. As a main subtance in education institute, teacher competence the aspect and responsibility. Of teacher have competence in their profession will can do tasks well and effective. In Indonesia ?Act? wich suggest that every teacher should have the competence, competence include: Pedagogical competence, personal competence, sosial competence, and professional competence. Based on the above reasoning, this study aimed to describe the: 1) Pedagogic competence Arabic teacher, 2) Personal competence Arabic teacher, 3) Sosial competence Arabic teacher, 4) Professional competence Arabic teacher. The research is descriptive qualitativ research. Data collection method is observation, interview, and documentation. This research object is for Arabic teacher in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Kepanjen Malang which aggregation 2 teachers. The result of this study, 1) Pedagogic competence Arabic teacher in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Kepanjen fall into the category of good and moderate; good because it has meet the 10 pedagogic competence indicators and moderate because harnesses are information and communication technology for the sake of learning, 2) Personal competence Arabic teacher in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Kepanjen fall into the category of good and moderate; good because it has met competency indicators 5 personalities, and moderate because have not present themselves as private yet steady, stable, mature, wise and authoritative, 3) Sosial competence Arabic teacher in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Kepanjen entered in the category medium, because don?t have communication competence effectively, empathetic and polite with fellow educators, educational personnel, parents and community, 4) Professional competence Arabic teacher in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Kepanjen fall into the category of good and; good because it has meet the professional competence indicator 5, and moderate because haven't developed learning materials taught creatively and make use of information and communication technologies to develop themselves ABSTRAK Kompetensi guru adalah salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran dan pendidikan sekolah. Sebagai unsur pokok dalam lembaga pendidikan, guru sebagai pengajar harus memiliki kompetensi yang sesuai dengan bidang dan tanggung jawabnya. Seorang guru yang memiliki kompetensi dalam profesinya akan dapat melaksanakan tugas-tugasnya dengan baik dan efektif. Di Indonesia ?Undang-undang No 14 tahun 2005? menunjukkan bahwa setiap guru harus memiliki kompetensi, kompetensi tersebut meliputi: kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi kepribadian, kompetensi sosial, dan kompetensi profesional. Berdasarkan pemikiran diatas, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang: 1) kompetensi pedagogik guru Bahasa Arab, 2) kompetensi kepribadian guru Bahasa Arab, 3) kompetensi sosial guru Bahasa Arab, 4) kompentesi profesional guru Bahasa Arab.
