ABSTRACT Vocabulary is the most important element of language. And someone will increase their language ability if their vocabularies are increasing, since the language ability of someone depens on the vocabularies they master. The researcher has done his first interview with Arabic teacher of class eight (A and B) at Miftahul Huda Islamic Junior high School Malang, that students have difficulties in learning new vocabulary. They also get difficult in receiving vocabulary from their teacher. Thus, they do not understand when the teacher give some questions. Besides, they also forgot the vocabulary they got in the previous meeting. The researcher has done his first observation in students class eight (A and B). The researcher found some problems in learning vocabulary such as the use of traditional strategy without any interesting one. This problem definitely affect the learning process and cause boredom of student. Based on that problem, the researcher conduct a experimental research that is the used of photographic picture media for learning vocabulary of the student in the class. Based on the background above, the researcher formulates several research questions those are (1) How is the use of photographic picture media for learning vocabulary class eight at Miftahul Huda Islamic Junior high School Malang? (2) How effective the used of of photographic picture media for learning vocabulary class eight at Miftahul Huda Islamic Junior high School Malang? The objective of this research is (1) to know the used of photographic picture media for learning vocabulary class eight at Miftahul Huda Islamic Junior high School Malang (2) to know the effectiveness of used of photographic picture media for learning vocabulary class eight at Miftahul Huda Islamic Junior high School Malang. The research method used in this research is experimental quantitative method. The result of this research is that use of photographic picture media for learning vocabulary is that researcher took pictures one by one, and shown that pictures to student. Then researcher read that vocabulary and repeated by students. And then, researcher asked to studens for write that vocabulary in their book. And memorize that vocabulary and also the meanings. For enhance the spirit of students, researcher divided five group, every grup includes five students, and one of that grup include six studens. And the researcher divided the pieces of vocabulary that written on paper to every grup and the final, researcher asked to student for match that vocabulary with an appropriate meaning. And the result effectifity which found of the researcher is that t-calculate 4,08. Then the researcher shown the result of t-table = 1,67 of 5% and 2,60 of 1%. So the re
