It intends to supply students with essential information and knowledge are needed for them. Because of that, practice reading that is very important. Related to this, the selection of a good learning method in teaching reading skills to improve the ability of students to understand and know the various knowledge. In this research, researchers applied the technique to make a match of learning reading skills. Make a Match is one of the co-operative learning in which students search for the pair while getting to know a concept with a nice atmosphere. This Technique began, students were told to look for pairs of cards that is the questions and answers before the deadline. Students are given a card match points. The problems of this research are: 1) how to apply the technique to Make a Match learning reading skills of students' MTs Assulthoniyah probolinggo?. 2) how the effectiveness of the use techniques Make a Match for learning reading skills of students' MTs Assulthoniyah Probolinggo? . the aim of this research are: 1) to know for apply technique to make a match learning reading skills at MTs Assulthoniyah. 2) to know effectiveness of the technique to make a match learning reading skills at MTs Assulthoniyah. The research method in this study is an experimental research with pretest and posttest for the control groups and experimental. The approach in this study is the quantitative approach. The instrument used in the collection of data is a test exam (pretest and posttest), interviews, and observations. Method of counting by t-test method. The results of t-test showed 3,8 greater than the result of significant 1% 2,46 was also greater than significantly 5% 1,70. Ho = rejected, H1 acceptable, so it can be concluded that the use of techniques make a match very effective for learning Arabic reading skills for students MTs Assulthoniyah probolinggo. ABSTRAK Membaca merupakan salah satu dari empat keterampilan berbahasa. Hal ini bertujuan untuk membekali siswa dengan informasi dan pengetahuan penting yang diperlukan siswa. Oleh karena itu, melatih kemampuan membaca yang baik sangatlah penting. Terkait dengan hal itu pemilihan metode pembelajaran yang baik dalam pengajaran keterampilan membaca dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam memahami dan mengetahui berbagai ilmu pengetahuan. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menerapkan teknik make a match untuk pembelajaran keterampilan membaca. Make a Match merupakan salah satu dari kooperatif learning yang mana siswa mencari pasangan sambil belajar mengenal suatu konsep dengan suasana yang menyenangkan. Teknik ini dimulai dengan, siswa disuruh mencari pasangan kartu yang merupakan soal dan jawaban sebelum batas waktunya. Siswa yang mencocokkan kartunya diberi poin. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah : 1) bagaimana penerapan teknik make a match untuk pembelajaran keterampilan membaca siswa MTs Assulthoniyah probolinggo?. 2) bagaimana efektifitas penggunaan teknik make a match untuk pembelajaran keterampilan membaca siswa MTs Assulthoniyah probolinggo?.
