Abstract :
This study attempts to construe (1) the textual meaning of the song ?Summertime Sadness? on the album ?Born To Die?, (2) find out the signaling symptoms of suicidal thoughts found in Lana Del Rey?s song lyric ?Summertime Sadness? in the album ?Born To Die?, and (3) find out what causes Lana Del Rey to have suicidal thoughts regarding the song. The writer then found 4 signaling symptoms of suicidal thoughts in her song lyrics. When analyzing, the writer found that id, ego, and superego of songwriter are very chaotic and messy. The songwriter finds it very difficult to balance her id, ego, and superego. In the end, Id can be handled by the ego and superego, it can be proven by the release of this song and many songs or albums she created after this.
