Abstract :
The thesis entitled ?Transformation Analysis on English Advertisements of New Woman Magazine: Syntax Perspective?. Advertisement is one of the activities of promotion which is done by many government and private companies. The goal is able to make consumer that advertisement especially the sentences or the words implied in that advertisement. The aims of this research are to describe the transformational processes by tree diagrams and to classify into 6 transformation types applied by the sentences of English advertising in New Woman Magazine. This research classifies as the qualitative research. Meanwhile, to collect the data, the writer gets the suitable from the Documentation. After the data have been collected, the writer identifies and classifies into the type of transformation. Then the writer interprets thesis data. Through data analysis, the writer may conclude that there are 6 transformation types used by the sentences in the advertisement. And then, the writer also shows the frequency of each transformation type applied by the sentences on the advertisements. From the results of the study, the writer concluded that transformational rules here are very important for us because by transformational rules, we can understand how the deep structure becomes the surface structure via transformations. In the transformation types, the sentences of advertisements mostly used the imperative transformation type. It is proven by the frequency use of this type is 25%. On the other hand, the notplacement transformations is used only in 8,2%.
