Abstract :
This study aims to determine the significant difference in social class in the Titanic movie (1997). The object analyzed by the researcher is the different classes between Jack and Rose in Titanic movie (1997), who are from very different social classes. The researcher was conducted by applying some procedure. First, the research watched the movie and reading the script. After that, the researcher noting the important points of the film that will be developed in the research. Next methodology, the researcher identifying the problems found in the script. Fourth, the researcher analyzing the findings, and last methodology is interpreting the findings.This study applied the theory of Karl Marx written in Das Kapital. The researcher applied marxism approach.From this research, it was found conflict, what is the proletariat,what is the bourgeoisie. Proletariat are the social class of wage-earners, those members of a society whose only possession of significant economic value is their labour power (their capacity to work) while bourgeoisie is a sociologically defined social class, especially in contemporary times, referring to people with a certain cultural and financial capital belonging to the middle or upper middle class. And there are four conflicts found. First. Was when Cal scolded Rose for going to the proletariat's party. Second. Was when Jack was not allowed to see Rose because Jack was from a third class passenger. Third. when Jack was accused of stealing Rosen's diamond necklace. Last. was Rose's mother who didn't want to. get into a lifeboat if it is crowded and full of people not from the bourgeoisie
