Abstract :
This thesis is about The Onomastic Analysis of the Characters Found in Wachowski Brothers? Matrix. The aims of this thesis are to know the capability in the Onomastic analysis of characters' proper name and to predict, which may be faced by the reader especially students of Language and Cultural Studies of Unisbank Semarang The data of this thesis are taken from Wachowski Brothers' science fiction film the matrix trilogy. The Wachowski Brothers? Matrix was chosen because the writer could find several proper names that the origin name are derived from Greek, Hebrew, Sanskrit, English, Spanish, Dutch, French, American, Latin, Scandinavian, Computer term, and Machine reference. The data, which have been gained, are analyzed by using qualitative analysis. To make systematic interpretation, the data are analyzed into three different steps namely, identification, classification, and interpretation. In the first step, the writer identified the onomastic analysis of characters found in Wachowski Brothers? Matrix. After identifying the characters, the writer classified them into three different ways. They are to classify the original meaning, the gender and the evolution. In the last step, Interpretation, the writer explains the characters based on the onomastic that have found before. In short, the Wachowski Brothers' science fiction film the matrix trilogy has many proper names, which contain Onomastic, especially characters' name. So that the writer analyzes their album and make the simple practice to make easy to be understood.
