Abstract :
Reseacher took data from Jean Paul Sartre?s short story: ?The Wall?. The purpose of this research paper is to analyze the Pablo Ibbieta?s personality. This is a short story that despicts the main character?s personality changes in order to create action. In the process of analysis, researcher used Psychoanalytic theory of personality by Sigmund Freud (1923) such as Id, Ego, and Superego. This study uses a qualitative research strategy where the data collection approach uses descriptive methods. The data used in this study is a short story of the character utterances. The researcher found that the main character, Pablo Ibbieta, experienced several personality changes in the form of his behaviors and emotions in The Wall. Finally, the researcher found the Id, Ego, and Superego of each problem that influenced Ibbieta?s personality changes. The emotions of Ibbieta?s after he is caught and sentenced to death if he does not reveal the whereabouts of Ramon Griss show the process of personality changes.
