Abstract :
This study aimed to analyze woman independency reflected in Beauty and The Beast movie. The data was taken from the dialog and the scenes in the movie that displayed woman independency and how the main character solves the conflict that reflected feminist ideology. The method used in this study is qualitative method. The researcher analyze the data using theory of Kate Millet namely Sexual Politics (second-wave feminism). The study answered three questions related to kind of discrimination act, social conflicts were faced by the main character and howthe main character solves the conflict that reflected feminist ideology. The result showed that there are kinds of discrimination acts. They are racism; Belle is considered a stranger because sheis nerd, also sexism; women can't do anything after her father died. The study also showed social conflicts faced by the main character that is to, women do not needto demand education, man can decide what they want and belle is not trusted by society. Lastly, the study displayed how the main character solved the conflict reflected feminist ideology. The main character wants the right to be as free as men, dare to take a decision, and fight the cultural construction in the village
