Abstract :
The title of this thesis ?Nationalism and Patriotism of Princess Ester
(Hadassah) in Tommy Tenney?s Hadassah One Night with the King as
Structuralism?, the author wants to convey the message that it is very challenging
novel to read. It is about motherless little girl who did not have father anymore.
Princess Esther or Hadassah are descendants of the Jews. People who
experience oppression by other nations. Princess Esther together with her brother,
they are struggling to live without family. Their parents died when Esther was 8 years
old. They both decided to stay in the fortress of Susa, where they formerly lived,
although they must remember to live with their parents prior to the massacre by the
robbers.
Princess Esther was raised by her own brother and has been regarded as his
own. Princess Esther was taken by the guards of the palace to be Queen instead of
Vashti. After experiencing many events the peoples in the Persian. Princess Esther
eventually experienced an event that she should sacrifice her life for her people,
namely Jews.
