Abstract :
Pineapple (Ananas comosus L.) is one kind of fruits that interest people
local or international. Pineapple has a content like flavonoid, saponin, and bromelin
which can be used as antibacteria. This research aims to find out inhibitory of
ethanol extract of pineapple skins (Ananas comosus L.) against Staphylococcus
epidermidis and the most potential concentrations in inhibiting the growth of
Staphylococcus epidermidis. The Method used is disc diffusion (Kirby & Bauer)
with concentrations series 100%, 75%, 50%, dan 25% every extract. The result of
inhibiting zone was obtained analyzed by descriptive qualitative method. The result
of inhibiting zone is shown from each extract at 100%, 75%, 50%, and 25%
concentrations of pineapple skins ethanol extract is 28,97 mm, 20,84 mm, 16,70
mm, dan 13,90 mm. Pineapple skins ethanol extract able to inhibit growing up
Staphylococcus epidermidis and 100% concentrations is the most potent
concentration in inhibiting growth bacterial Staphylococcus epidermidis by
generating inhibiting zone amount 28,97 mm.
