Abstract :
Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) is a potentially lethal disease and can be
transmited by Aedes aegypti mosquito by using Repellent. Then the research for
natural compounds contains alkaloid, saponin, tannin dan glikosida and essential
oils as a repellent in them. The porpose of this research is to know the effectivity
of Morinda citrifolia.L etanol extract as repellent to Aedes aegypti.
This study is an experimental study post test with control by repettion 3
times on different days. The probandus arms inserted into the barrel test
containing 20 female Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and then tested as repellent with
96 % etanol was sprayed as a negatif control and etanol extract Morinda
citrifolia.L concentration of 10 %, 15 %, 20 %, 25%, 30 %, 35 % and 40 %. The
protection of each extract etanol Morinda citrifolia.L was calculated by using the
protection formula and analyzed by using One Way Anova test.
The resilt showed that extract etanol Morinda citrifolia.L gave protection
value of 87,13574% with significance value > 0,05 which means that etanol
extract of Morindda citrifolia.L was not effective as repellent to Aedes aegypti.
