Abstract :
The use of mobile phones in Indonesia is 80% dominated by teenagers aged 15-19
years old. Exposure to electromagnetic waves which come from mobile phones
causes reduction in endogenous synthesis which can cause reduction in
cholesterol levels in plasma. the purpose of this research was to determine the
relationship between the duration of cellphone useage and cholesterol levels on
students of SMK Analis Kesehatan Surakarta.
Design of this research in observational analytic research with cross
sectional research methods. The number of samples in this research were 14
students of SMK Analis Kesehatan Nasional Surakarta by using the total
population method. The subject in this research were student of SMK Analis
Kesehatan Nasional Surakarta . Subject?s characteristics were obtained through a
questionnaire, cholesterol level was inspected by RAL Clima MC-15 photometer.
This hypothesis was tested using the Spearman correlation test.
The results of this research showed that they had normal cholesterol levels
(100%). Hypothesis test results is R= 0,093, value of R
2=0,86%; significant
between the duration of cellphone use and cholesterol levels in students.
Conclusion : There is no significant relationship between the duration of
cellphone use and cholesterol levels in students of SMK Analis Kesehatan
Nasional Surakarta.
