Abstract :
Drinking tea has become a tradition in Indonesian people?s daily lives. In tea there
are tannins which are inhibitors of iron absorption. Ferri is needed in the synthesis
of hemoglobin. Reduced hemoglobin levels can cause anemia. Anemia in
adolescent girl has a ten times greater risk than young men. Limitation of
hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls to diagnose anemia is when the hemoglobin
level is less than 12 grams / dl. This study aims to determine the relationship of
tea drinking habits with hemoglobin levels in adolescent girl in MAN 1 Surakarta
Female Hostel.
This type of research was observational analytic with cross sectional
approach. When the study was conducted in February - June 2020. Samples in this
study were 29 samples with purposive sampling technique.
The results of the study using the Spearman correlation test obtained a
significance value of 0,001 (p<0,01) and a correlation value of -0.719 so that it
can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between black tea drinking
habits with hemoglobin levels in MAN 1 Surakarta Female Hostel with the
direction of a negative relationship with a strong relationship.
