Abstract :
Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) is a common medical condition that caused in
significant morbidity and mortality rates. The prevalence of cases of urinary tract
infections are so varied such as gender, age, and bacteria caused. This research
aims to determine the overview of UTI events based on gender, age and bacterial
causes in the Surabaya.
This research uses the method of literature study that is done descriptively by
compiling data based on reference sources. Based on the analysis of literary
studies, there were results that UTI more cases attacked women than men. In
addition to that the incidence of urinary tract infections many occur in elderly
where the main cause is Escherichia coli.
Based on the analysis of literary studies, it can be concluded that women are
more susceptible to urinary tract infections with a percentage of 58,7% with the
highest case occurring in elderly with a percentage of 34,5% as well as the most
common cause of Escherichia coli with a percentage of 41%.
