Abstract :
Background: Candida is a normal and widely distributed flora in the
body, which grow will at tempetarures 25-300C and also can grow at 35-370C.
The disease caused by this fungus is known as Candidiasis. Purpose: To evaluate
the general overview Candidiasis in Diabetes Mellitus with Gram stain test and
LPCB stain test. Methods:This study uses deskriptive methods. Results and
conclusions: Gram staining gives a purple color to the fungus, the visible
structure of the fungus is blastospores, hyphae or pseudohifa or both. The
advantage of Gram staining is that it has a high specificity sensitivity, can be
stored for re-examination. While the advantages of LPCB staining are quick and
easy to do, other advantages can be seen from the composition. The color
produced after painting with LPCB is fungus that appears blue. Unlike the Gram
staining of the structure of the fungus that is done when painting LPCB is more
complete, namely blastospores, pseudohifa and klamidospora.
