Abstract :
Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a metabolic disorder characterized by increased blood
glucose levels which can cause vascular complications, one of which is diabetic foot ulcers.
Diabetic foot ulcers occur and thrombocytosis has a large platelet size and is reactive and
is more thrombogenic. This study aims to determine the relationship between platelet count
and diabetic foot ulcers in patients with Type 2 diabetes.
This type of research is a literature study and data analysis techniques using
descriptive analysis with a cross sectional research design. The population of this study
were patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complications of diabetic foot ulcers.
Research results by Siregar., et. al. and Stefanie., et. al. showed that there was a
significant relationship between the platelet count and diabetic foot ulcers in patients with
Type 2 diabetes with a p value <0.05. While research Memah., et. al. and Irfan., et. al.
showed no significant relationship between platelet count and diabetic foot ulcers in
patients with type 2 diabetes with a p value > 0.05.
The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between the
platelet count and diabetic foot ulcers in patients with Type 2 diabetes in the Siregar., et.
al. and Stefanie., et. al .. In the research of Memah., et. al, and Irfan., et. al. did not show
a significant relationship between the platelet count and diabetic foot ulcers in patients with
Type 2 diabetes.
