Abstract :
Hypertension is a silent killer where symptoms vary in each individual.
The increase in hypertension sufferers if it is not immediately taken precautionary
measures or treatment can have an impact on increasing mortality, especially in
Magelang. This study aims to determine the level of adherence to the use of
antihypertensive drugs at the Puskesmas Pembantu Gelangan Magelang Tengah.
This study was a descriptive study, conducted in March 2019 with a
population of all hypertensive patients visiting the work area of Puskesmas
Pembantu Gelangan Magelang Tengah totaling 103 people and the entire
population was sampled. The research instrument used the MMAS-8
questionnaire by testing the validity and reliability that had been done. Data
analysis techniques are carried out quantitatively.
The results showed that the highest level of adherence to the use of
antihypertensive drugs in the Magelang Central Midwife Health Center was
highest in the medium category of 40%, high 32% and low 28%. The data is then
processed using Chi-Square analysis and shows the results there is no
relationship between the characteristics of respondents with the level of
adherence to the use of antihypertensive drugs with a value of p> 0,05.
