Abstract :
Background and Purpose: Hyperglycemia at productive age (15 years-64 years)
represents the increase of glucose intolerance. The prevalence of hyperglycemia in
Indonesia 2013 was 53,1%. Prevention of hyperglycemia can be detected by
quantifying the central obesity. Central obesity is measured by waist
circumference measurement. This research aims to analyze the data regarding the
relation between waist circumference with the fasting blood glucose levels at
productive age.
Method: The research uses literature study method. The method uses secondary
data types which is taken from several journals and essay. Furthermore, this
research uses descriptive analysis, by reviewing the description concerning with
the data of relation between two variables and other factors.
Results: The research obtained two data states there is a significant ralation
betwen waist circumference with the fasting blood glucose levels at productive
age, which the value is P < 0,05. And also obtained two data that show the value P
> 0,05, it means the two variables are not significant relation.
Conclusion: This study describes a significant relationship in respondents ranging
in age from 45 years. The study also described no significant relationship in
respondents aged less than 45 years and having moderate physical activity.
