Abstract :
Carbon monoxide (CO) gas is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, nonirritating, flammable and highly toxic gas, and does not dissolve in water. Carbon
monoxide is exposed to the body, binds to hemoglobin and separated
oxyheaemoglobin to form carboxyhemoglobin. This study aims to determine
carboxyhemoglobin levels in traffic control volunteer officer with the conway
diffusion cell method.
This research method is descriptive. The sampling technique used was
quota sampling. Research subjects are 6 traffic control volunteer officer in Solo
who is suitable the criterias. Research of carboxyhemoglobin levels using UVVIS spectrophotometer with Conway Cell Diffusion method.
The results obtained carboxyhemoglobin levels between 0,43%-0,69% of
the 6 respondents. Linear Regression Line obtained Y = 0.3892x + 0.0146. The
absorbance of the sample is read at a wavelength of 450.0 nm and the operating
time is stable at 60-120 minutes.
The research can be concluded that the value of carboxyhemoglobin levels
in the blood of traffic control volunteer officer is still in normal range as the
Republic of Indonesia Minister of Health's number 70 of 2016 which is no more
than 3,5%.
