Abstract :
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by
high blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia) due to impaired insulin work. The
prevalence of diabetes mellitus in Surakarta reaches 16,852 cases in 2018.
Various factors including life style, high carbohydrate diet, lack of exercise, and
sedentary increase the risk of insulin resistance which ultimately leads to an
increase in blood glucose levels. This study aims to determine the difference of
fasting blood glucose levels before and aftergiven a white oyster mushroom
(Pleurotus ostreatus) to PKK caders in Danukusuman village.
This type of research is an experimental analytic study design with
preetest and posttest without control. The blood glucose examination method used
is GOD-PAP (Glucose oxidase - Phenol aminophenazone) using a photometer
RAL Clima MC-1. The number of research samples were 30 respondents with the
sampling technique used was purposive sampling.
Blood glucose examination data were analyzed using a computer with the
SPSS For Windows 16. The results of this study obtained an abnormal
distribution normality test (p) <0.05. The statistical test used was the MannWhitney test, whichresulted in the significance of p (0,000) < (0.05). So it can be
concluded that there is an difference of fasting blood glucose levels before and
aftergiven a white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) to PKK caders in
Danukusuman village.
