Abstract :
Worm infections are one of the most common diseases scattered and infect humans around the world. One type of worm that is the biggest cause of helminthiasis is Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH). Soil Transmitted Helminths are worms that in their life cycle require proper soil to develop into an infeective form. The purpose of this research is to find out the species of egg- Soil Transmintted Helminths and a percentage of the samples contaminated with the Soil Transmintted Helminths in soil-related workers. This research uses a type of research literature study. The data needed in this study were derived from the research results of egg contamination of Soil Transmittd Helminths in some soil-related workers, namely breeder, duck herdsman, garbage carrier, scavenger, tile craftsmen, farmer, ornamental plant seller, manure maker, coffee plantation worker and brick craftsman with the research samples used are feces. The data obtained is analyzed using descriptive analysis. Based on the results obtained, that the positive type of work contaminated by egg Soil Transmitted Helminths as much as 7 jobs (70%) namely breeder, duck herdsman, garbage carrier, scavenger, ornamental plant seller, coffee plantation worker and brick craftsman, with the species that contaminate Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura and Hook worm. The highest contamination was found in breeder in Lingkungan Getep, Kelurahan Ampenan Selatan of 27 samples (90%) contaminated egg Soil Transmitted Helminths . Negative results of 3 jobs (30%) namely tile craftsmen, farmers and manure makers.
