Abstract :
Scabies is a skin disease that is easily transmitted and is caused by
Sarcoptes scabiei mites which are found in densely populated environments such
as orphanages. Factors that influence the spread of scabies disease themselves can
be from personal hygiene, cleanliness of toiletries and sleeping equipment, density
of the number of people in one room or knowledge. Orphanage itself is a place
where scabies can spread quickly due to personal hygiene problems and dense
occupants. This study aims to review the incidence of scabies in Indonesia and the
factors that influence the incidence of scabies.
This research is based on a literature study which uses secondary data
taken from scientific journals, theses and paper data analysis techniques used are
descriptive analysis methods. Study literature used by the authors sebanya six
scattered in Indonesia.
The results obtained from the literature study obtained are at Darul
Yatama Orphanage (2011) in Medan which has a scabies incidence rate of 88%.
Whereas the Orphanage in Kulonprogo Regency (2013) has a prevalence of
scabies of 3%. At Sabulussalam Orphanage and Al-Malul Khair Islamic Boarding
School in Palembang (2016) the prevalence of scabies is 35%. The prevalence of
scabies in Orphanages in Kemiling Subdistrict, Bandar Lampung City (2017) is
20%, while the prevalence for Al Hidayah Orphanage Mataram (2017) is 11%,
and for the prevalence of scabies in Orphanage in Palembang City Sako District
(2018) is 0%.
Based on the data obtained from research journals, it can be concluded that
there is an average incidence of scabies from 6 orphanages, which according to
literary data sources is 25%. Factors affecting the incidence of scabies according
to 6 literary data are length of stay, environmental sanitation, personal knowledge
and hygiene
